About Us
We
live on a 20 acre ranch about 30 minutes south of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our
sons have helped us care for horses, goats, cattle, and our cats and
dogs. All of the animals have names and are our friends. We are kept
busy keeping the beavers from chewing down the trees beside the pond,
keeping the fences mended so the cows don't go free, picking the grapes,
tending our gardens and flowers, milking the goats, and playing with
the dogs. It is a good life - for us and for our dogs.
Our
family has always had problems with allergies and have not been able
to have dogs in our home -- until we became owners of Merlin and Labradoodles.
Our first generation girls are little-to-low shedders and have not been
an allergy problem for our family. As our oldest son Steven's wife Sarah
says,"Labradoodles are just the perfect dog." When their daughter Jadyn
(our granddaughter) reaches age two, guess what will be her first pet??
Labradoodles will be with our family for generations to come.
Our
puppies are raised inside our
sunroom with lots of sunlight for health and a happy disposition, as
they listen to excellent classical tunes. With 20 acres to romp and
play, fetch and retrieve....and tease, our dogs get plenty of exercise
and fresh air. As we wean our pups from their moms, they continue to
receive fresh goats' milk daily until they are fully on solid puppy
food. The goats milk gives them the next best thing to their mother
and makes the weaning process easier and healthier for them. We try
hard to provide all our puppies with the best nutritional support to
carry them through life. [Caylee, Bear and Sophie, pictured above, were purchased from
Magestic Pines Ranch. See more photos and read their story on our Testimonials page.]
As we pour ourselves into our dogs, we
find they always give more back to us. Having raised our four sons with
dogs has proven to be a way of enriching family life. I believe pets
are a valuable way to teach our children responsibility as well as helping
them to focus on something other than themselves. Our sons have proven
to become fine young men with caring, nurturing personalities. It gives
us great pleasure to put a moment of time on hold, to listen to one
of them share the latest happening with their dog. I believe God created
dogs for our joy.
